F.B.I. director, James Comey, made a statement to the press today saying that while there is evidence of carelessness in the handling of classified material by Hillary Clinton, there was no evidence of willful mismanagement of classified emails on a large scale. There was no evidence that Hillary at intentionally sent or received classified material on this email server.
While James Comey did publicly chide Hillary Clinton for being so careless in the setup of her email server and the way she handled certain emails, he continued saying that the F.B.I. would make no recommendation that criminal charges be brought against Hillary Clinton, but the final decision rests with the Department of Justice and, ultimately, Loretta Lynch, the attorney general.
Loretta Lynch has already said that she will defer to the recommendation of the F.B.I., thus; concluding what amounts to a yearlong investigation stemming from the terrorist incident in Benghazi, Libya. A huge weight has been lifted off the Clinton campaign just hours before her first joint appearance with President Obama.
What do you think? Was this the right decision?
